We are planning to ride into Gallipoli on the 22nd of April 2015 with as many people who want to come and a million dollars for Legacy. The idea is to travel through Europe and visit the major war memorials on the way to Gallipoli.

The countries we plan to go through are France, Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. This is a rough route at the moment but we don't want to make this an easy ride so we want a bit of a challenge.

We are near 2 years into the planning and with the help of our friends at Boronia Battlefield Tours and the route is starting to take shape. Due to weather concerns and the road conditions the easier route will be to stick to the coast and the warmer regions of Europe instead of heading through the Alps. With a few more years to go though anything can change but at least we are now starting to firm up the route.

This is six years away so we will be holding small events on the way to the big one to raise money so keep an eye out for an events page soon. Thanks in advance to everyone for coming to check out the site and watch this space.

Above all we would like to honor the memories of the Australian, New Zealand, Turkish, British, French Indian and any other soldier who fought at Gallipoli. It's not common for us to be able to celebrate the 100th anniversary of anything so we feel privileged to be able to participate in the 100th anniversary of Anzac Day.

SPONSORS
We are looking for sponsors to help us push the project along and help us hit the $1,000,000 mark. The big target is a project that will not only provide a perfect platform for sponsors to be recognised on a national scale. Sponsorship can be as simple as free advertising for the event to logistical assistance. We think you will find our values will match that of your business. If you would like to find out more please contact us for an information pack or click on the Cooee for a brief run down.

2011 Progress

Thanks to all the people who have registered an expression of interest in coming on the tour. We now have approximately 50 people confirmed and another 75 who want to keep informed. As we get closer to the date we will publishing the numbers and how many spots are left. If you already have confirmed your spot then you are locked in and don't need to worry.

We met with Jenk from the Kum where we will be staying once we arrive at the peninsula. He had come out to Australia so John and Darren from Boronia tours kindly set up a lunch for us all to catch up. Everything is still on track for occupying the camping ground. We have progressed with our plans to upgrade the electrical system in the camping ground in the next couple of years so we will be asking for any electricians who want to come over with us to fit out a few outdoor panels.

The big question we have been asked is can anyone hire a bike over there and ride it and the quick answer is no. We are organising transport for all our bikes from Australia to London and then from Istanbul to Australia.

We are in the process of putting a major project plan together that all will receive that will outline the full logistics of transport, accommodation, camping arrangements on the peninsula and return flights.

The next big step is fundraising and sponsorship but it's very hard to build interest when we are still years away. In saying that though if anyone has connections to sponsor the trip for us all then please do not hesitate to contact us.

We were invited to the opening of Legacy week in Sydney and Doug went down to represent us. Among the people was Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith, a true Australia hero who received the Victoria Cross for his actions during a helicopter assault in Tizak, Afghanistan on 11 June 2010. It was a real honour to meet all those involved with the opening and organisation of Legacy Week.

The main focus of this entire trip is to raise funds for legacy so if you have the ability then buy a badge when you can for Legacy.

Thanks again to all for the support to date and we promise to keep you all updated as we all head down this road together.
